Peer-Review policy

The Sulaimani Journal for Pure and Applied Sciences (SUJPAS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and research excellence through a rigorous, fair, and transparent peer-review process. All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment to ensure they align with the journal’s scope, formatting guidelines, and ethical standards. Submissions that meet these criteria are then subjected to a double-blind peer-review process, where both authors' and reviewers' identities remain anonymous to ensure impartiality and prevent bias.

Each manuscript is assigned to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on originality, methodological rigour, scientific validity, clarity of presentation, and significance to the scientific community. Their feedback includes constructive comments, suggestions for improvement, and a recommendation to accept, revise, or reject the manuscript. The final decision is made by the journal’s editorial board, considering reviewers’ recommendations and the overall quality of the submission.

SUJPAS upholds a strict ethical review policy, ensuring that all research adheres to ethical guidelines, including proper citation practices, avoidance of plagiarism, and compliance with human and animal research ethics. Authors are expected to respond to reviewers' comments thoroughly and make necessary revisions to enhance the quality of their work.

To maintain the efficiency of the publication process, SUJPAS strives to complete the peer-review within a reasonable timeframe while ensuring a thorough evaluation. Authors will be informed of the review outcomes and any required revisions in a timely manner. The journal also welcomes post-publication discussions and corrections to uphold scientific integrity.

By implementing a robust peer-review policy, SUJPAS ensures that all published research meets the highest academic standards and contributes meaningfully to scientific advancement.
