Publication Ethics

The Sulaimani Journal for Pure and Applied Sciences (SUJPAS) is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of ethical integrity in academic publishing. The journal follows the ethical guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and expects all authors, reviewers, and editors to adhere to principles of honesty, transparency, and accountability throughout the publication process.

Authorship and Contribution Transparency

• All listed authors must have made significant contributions to the research, including study design, data collection, analysis, or manuscript preparation.

• The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final manuscript before submission.

• Ghostwriting, honorary authorship, and undisclosed contributions are strictly prohibited.

Originality and Plagiarism Prevention

• Manuscripts submitted to SUJPAS must be original and must not have been published or submitted elsewhere.

• All submissions will undergo plagiarism screening using advanced detection tools. Any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism or text recycling without proper citation, will lead to rejection or retraction.

• Proper attribution must be given to all referenced works, and direct quotations must be clearly indicated.

Data Integrity and Research Misconduct

• Authors must ensure the accuracy of their data and must not engage in data fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting of results.

• Any manipulation of images, figures, or datasets to misrepresent findings is considered unethical and may lead to manuscript rejection or retraction.

• Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest that may have influenced their research findings.

Ethical Approval for Human and Animal Research

• Studies involving human participants must comply with ethical research standards, including obtaining Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval and informed consent.

• Research involving animals must adhere to internationally recognized animal welfare guidelines, and ethical approval must be clearly stated in the manuscript.

Peer-Review Integrity

• SUJPAS follows a double-blind peer-review process to ensure objectivity and impartiality.

• Reviewers must provide fair, constructive, and unbiased evaluations and must not have conflicts of interest with the authors.

• Authors must not attempt to influence reviewers or engage in unethical practices such as reviewer manipulation or citation stacking.

Conflict of Interest Disclosure

• Authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal conflicts of interest that could influence the research or review process.

• Failure to disclose conflicts of interest may result in manuscript rejection or retraction.

Retractions and Corrections

• If a published article is found to contain errors, misleading information, or ethical violations, SUJPAS reserves the right to issue corrections, retractions, or editorial statements as necessary.

• Authors are encouraged to report any post-publication errors or concerns promptly for necessary amendments.
